Discrimination Based on Sexual Orientation No Longer Protected In Virginia

The Virginia Attorney General, Kenneth T. Cuccinelli, issued a statement to colleges statewide today.

This statement asked all colleges to remove ‘sexual orientation’ from the list of things they are not allowed to discriminate against.  Essentially giving any college statewide the right to discriminate students based on their sexual orientation.

Several colleges have come out in protest.   Leaders from The College of William and Mary have spoken to the media.  They say that they will continue their own non-discrimination policy, welcoming students from any background, as illustrated in this clip.
