Virginia state Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli spoke out late last week. Cuccinelli sent a request to all state colleges to remove ‘sexual orientation’ from their lists of discrimination protected statuses. Essentially giving schools the right to discriminate openly against LGBT students.
State Governor McDonnell has publicly spoken out against Cuccinelli’s memo and several students have organized protests set for next week.
Even with the firestorm of bad publicity, Cuccinelli stands behind his memo, claiming his position is no different than the last several VA Attorney Generals.
Perhaps this is yet another example of “The Change We Can Believe In” fairy tale.
