WATERCOLORS

When a gifted, young artist (Danny) arrives at the opening of his first New York exhibition, his erotic paintings evoke memories of his first love (Carter), a troubled athlete whose depression and self-denial impacted all those around him. Through a series of flashbacks we see Danny and Carter struggle with their mutual attraction. With the encouragement of three strong and very different women – Mrs. Martin, a free-spirited art teacher, his best friend, Andy, a young girl with a severe physical impairment, and his mother, Miriam, a recovering alcoholic – Danny learns to use his creativity to transcend his grief. Fifteen years later, Danny is faced with the possibility of losing Allan, his current lover, unless he keeps his promise to never paint the boy again.
The second film in the festival will be MISCONCEPTIONS
Directed by Ronald Satlof
Stars A.J. Cook, Orlando Jones, David Sutcliffe, and David Moscow
A religiously conservative, married southern woman receives a message from God instructing her to act as a surrogate mother for a married gay couple; a Jewish doctor and an African-American dance choreographer. All Hell breaks loose when the African
American man shows up unexpectedly at her deep-south home to micro-manage her pregnancy, and refuses to leave.
The 3rd movie featured will be MURDER IN FASHION
Directed by Ben Waller
Stars Jonathon Trent, Robert Miano, Stacey Dash and Cerina Vincent
In this ripped-from-the-headlines drama, gay party regular and aging boy toy Andrew Cunanan is forced to face the fact that his looks are fading and he is getting older, but he refuses to grow old gracefully. Instead, Andrew begins a murderous journey across the country from San Diego to Miami, killing anyone that gets in his way. FBI agent Harry Spalding is close on his tail, but even he cannot stop Cunanan from killing fashion designer Gianni Versace before shooting himself in the head on a Miami houseboat.
Tickets and showtimes for the Three Film Gay Film Fest will be available soon at http://www.drexel.net/. For more information, call the theatre’s box office at 614-231-1050.
